Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

To guarantee a seat on board, you must purchase tickets in advance. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express online at or by calling 480-984-2425 x 701.

How far are you from...?

Phoenix: 35-45 minutes
Mesa: 20-30 minutes
Scottsdale: 25-35 minutes
Glendale: 45-60 minutes
Tempe: 25-30 minutes
Tucson: 2 hours
Cave Creek: 45-60 minutes
Sun City: 50 -60 minutes

Please note that all times are approximate, and depend heavily on traffic conditions, your starting point, and time of day.

What can we expect to see on the tour?

On this relaxing, 90 minute-narrated cruise you will see exotic Arizona wildlife, towering canyon walls, and dramatic desert vistas. It’s the perfect spot to bring out-of-town guests because it allows you to experience the magnificent desert beauty and natural wildlife of spectacular Saguaro Lake—one of the Valley’s hidden treasures.

Are food and drinks available on board?

There is a snack bar on the boat that serves bottled water/soda ($2), beer ($4-$5), wine ($6), cocktails ($6), popcorn ($3-$5) and various other snacks ($1-$3). Please bring cash as the credit card services are very limited once underway on the cruise.

Are dogs allowed on board?

We gladly welcome ADA Service Animals that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Therapy Animals, Emotional Support Animals, and Comfort Animals are not considered Service Animals under ADA guidelines.

What type of ticket should I buy if I'm bringing a very young child?

Children (3-12 years old) must purchase a child ticket. Children (0-2 year olds) will need to purchase an infant ticket for $5. 

When do I check in?

Check in is required for all passengers. Whether you buy your tickets online or through our reservationists you must still check-in at the ticket booth located at the Lake. The coast guard requires that we know the exact number of people aboard each cruise therefore EVERYONE must check-in. No exceptions. Check-in begins *approximately 11:30 am for the 12:30 pm cruise, 2:00 pm for the 2:45, and 4:15 pm for the 5:00 pm.

Check-in begins approximately 45 minutes before cruise departure. Preferred ticket holders must be checked-in at least 30 minutes prior to departure in order to receive the preferred boarding. If you check-in after the preferred boarding time, you will be boarded with the general boarding.

*These times are an approximation. Our crew may be checking in slightly later or earlier than the times given on a day-to-day basis.

Is seating assigned on the cruise?

No. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. You are able to get up and move around to available seats throughout the cruise.

Are lifejackets available for use?

Yes, we do have life jackets on board for every passenger. Arizona State Law requires that all children ages 12 and under wear life jackets.

What should I wear?

Please make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. Casual attire is usually preferred and a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended year round.

Is there air conditioning aboard the Desert Belle?

YES! The lower level of the Desert Belle is climate controlled.  On the upper level there are awnings overhead to help protect you from the sun. Again, please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather–we always recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Is the boat handicap accessible?

Yes, the Desert Belle is handicap accessible. This includes a wheel chair accessible bathroom and grab bar. The Marina also has ramps that lead to the dock for boarding the Desert Belle via wheelchair or stroller.

Does the boat have a bathroom?

Yes, there are two bathrooms on board the Desert Belle.

Is smoking allowed on the cruise?

No. Due to Arizona State Law, smoking is not allowed aboard the boat. This includes vape pens and any e-cigarettes.

Do I need to buy a parking permit?

Parking is Free and NO parking permit is required to park for the Desert Belle in the Marina parking lot.

What happens if it rains?

The Desert Belle runs regardless of weather conditions. In the rare situation where we are forced to cancel the event, you will be allowed to reschedule to another time (subject to availability). Please keep in mind that in the event of light rain, there are enclosed areas on the boat to which you can move.

Are private charters available?

What is the cost of a private charter?

How long is a private charter? And, can the time be extended?
